EHS Manager I


  • Serve as the focal point for regional special projects, IMPACT database facilitator
  • Monthly safety reporting on IMPACT and Sustainability reports
  • Implement and support programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment
  • Develop and implement environmental, health and safety policies, programs and procedures to eliminate the occurrence of environmental incidents, minimize personal injuries, property damage, and vehicular/general liability claims
  • Conduct periodic audits to identify potential environmental and workplace hazards, programs deficiencies and liabilities
  • Present control and corrective action recommendations to company management
  • Analyze, design, develop and conduct appropriate training programs to assist management with environmental, health and safety responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations of accidents and near-miss incidents
  • Review and analyze accident data to identify trends or areas requiring additional focus
  • Serve as a technical resource to the company in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous materials/waste, biosafety, industrial hygiene, industrial safety, and/or ergonomics
  • Maintain routine OSHA and environmental reports and permits
  • Site liaison for Workers Compensation claims and investigations
  • Report to Corporate Risk Management on the status of plant metrics, environmental performance and legal and regulatory inspections/audits
  • Keep abreast of industry developments through membership in professional associations by reviewing trade publications and through attendance at trade conventions, seminars, workshops and meetings as necessary
  • Use LEAN manufacturing methodology and LEAN tools (Kaizen events, process mapping, benchmarking, and root cause analysis) to drive workplace safety improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Risk Management or related field
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) or risk management field
  • Prior experience supporting locations that include sizable Union based employees
  • Proven ability in facilitating training for all employee levels
  • Ability to develop and meet deadlines and budgets
  • Effective leadership and personnel management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement procedures and programs


  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time within the following North Eastern Region; Brooklyn, Staten Island, Carteret, Perth Amboy, Edison, Linden, Philadelphia, Baltimore

  • Main office base will be out of Carteret, NJ

Highly desired Certifications:

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM),

  • OSHA 10/30/40 Hour certification

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
